Love ’em or leave ’em, gizmos and gadgets are on their way

Technology is quite literally one of our favorite things. I was in the first 100 in line for my iPhone, same with my iPad. I will be for the next iPad as well soon; likely the same with the iPhone. These however appear to be simply laying the framework though for what is to come. Recent articles all over the web as well as trade shows alike are beginning to display a wide range of gizmos and gadgets designed to use currently available technology in new and productive ways. Even if we disagree on the term “productive” it is

Why we won’t be using a computer soon enough

Not too long ago we mentioned here the projected tablet sales; nearly 71 million to hit the streets by the end of 2012. The newest stat has the world hitting 850 million smartphones by 2015. That is a staggering number that has nearly 1 in 8 people on planet earth holding a smartphone within 4 years. If that is the case, why would anyone need a computer? As it stands now urban

The tablet train has left the building

And Adobe responds…

Folks we are back in the school yard. We are all 10 again and a crowd of kids has formed rather rambunctiously around the two bullies fighting in the center. On the one side they say this and on the other they say that. We have already spoken previously about Apple’s point of view here so it is only fair to tackle Adobe’s next. My problem with them is that they are either cognizant of the fact that they have a flimsy argument or they just really suck at fighting. You can check out the highlight reel of their

Flash may not be the best thing since sliced bread

Apple seems to be getting all of the press lately about its anti-Flash ranting. I am sure this is fantastic for everyone else complaining about some of the inherent issues at hand here. If you look a little closer though you can see that Apple is not the only one thinking it may be time to take a look at another technology. While they certainly seem to have pushed the first domino over, many others are falling in line fast. On the top of my list of people to watch in this arena are YouTube. If you have Chrome

iAd: hmm…

One thing I have enjoyed quite a bit thus far on my iPhone is the overall lack of advertising. Sure, a few apps have it but, for the most part, it is missing from the mix; until now. As with many issues that face us on the device, this one too splits me down the middle. In this corner we have the fact that this device is an integral part of our business. We make these apps for clients who, in turn, require a profit in order to continue on. While some companies have made quite a splash selling

Unified inbox, and grouped conversation: the new email

The preview release review continues with email. The new features really do make the experience a lot more like a regular computer interface. The ability to view all of our mailboxes in a unified window is nice to be sure. I personally view 6 email accounts on my devices so this is a real treat to get a snapshot of all of the mailboxes in one place. Our company accounts are IMAP so this new way of doing things does pose a few issues. So the unified inbox is fantastic. Backing up one level shows me all inboxes for
