AT&T: We don’t really care

It is no secret that iPhone users’ biggest complaint is the service. Almost all of the time actually. My experience has been so bad that I suppose I just presumed the entire population of iPhone users felt the same. (exaggerated of course, but I thought at least the majority). Turns out I was off; way off. According to a recent poll by Credit Suisse only 23% of current iPhone users would switch if given Verizon as an option. While less than expected, perhaps a few of them will change their minds after hearing their latest statements. It actually came

How do I market my new moble app?

The number one question we get asked both in pre-sales as well as after we complete a project is, “how do I market this app and make some money?” Good question. Here’s a better one, why are you asking at all? Presumably you own a company, you sell products or services, and have been doing so longer than you have been reading this post. To this end, why is it that you don’t know how to market a product? There, I said it, this is a product. Yes, a product. People continually confuse a new technology with the need

New iPad features

The new iPad rumor mill is firing up with some alleged confirmed features already. One is a slightly smaller screen (7 inches) and full conference capabilities. Mixed reviews on what that means though. Let’s tackle the latter first. This feature should have been on the first iPad. It was already in production with the new iPhone and would have made this product light years ahead of the pack instead of just a few hundred thousand miles ahead. Missed opportunity really but keeping in mind that we run on pure consumerism, clipping off a feature sure to entice many and

iPhone Funeral held by Microsoft

We have mentioned here, a few times I believe, our disdain for companies using the well beaten to death term “iPhone-killer”. People, let’s move on already. Regardless of if history tells us a product did or did not kill the iPhone, we simply need a new description. This one is tired and arguably makes one look like a kindergartener on the playground at lunch. This time it was actual employees that coined the term and not some reporter who fancies themselves as funny. The whole event was quite a spectacle it seems and to be quite honest it will

Cracks in the Android model showing

Some have accused us of being Apple fan-boys. While that might be true to some degree this does not mean that we hate everyone else. We have stated here before that Blackberry, at least as far as we can tell in terms of a viable app conduit, is effectively dead. This I believe regardless of what people accuse us of. Android however is a different story. We do develop for the Android platform and see several possibilities for the platform and generally like it from a hardware standpoint. However, there have been some concerns since day one that have

REMINDER: Get your Apple case before September 30

Just a friendly note to say that if you are having the now infamous left hand reception problem, and want to take Apple up on its offer of a free bumber guard, you had better do so prior to September 30. Otherwise, you are out of luck as that is when they will end. You can read more from Reuters about it here.

How many me-too’s will there be?

Apple’s iPad has no doubt been a home run for them. To be honest though, who cares about Apple? The real winner is us; all of us. Countless clients of ours, friends, and even people we look at a little funny, have told us that they love their iPad. Most use it a good chunk of the day as a primary communication tool. I was even shocked to see that I know more than a few folks that actually pay for the data plan so that they can use this everywhere. That being said now everyone wants in on
